Something to Think About: The battle is over and Gideon has lead the nation of Israel to a great victory over the Midianites against overwhelming odds. Gideon has the opportunity to take the credit and become the ruler over the nation. Gideon acknowledges God's power in providing the victory in his life as David did in his life; "Give unto the LORD, O you mighty ones, Give unto the LORD glory and strength.2 Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness." Psalm 29:1-2  Daniel, who told Nebuchadnezzar the meaning of his dream also resisted the temptation to take credit for what God had done; " Daniel replied, "No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, ²⁸ but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you lay on your bed are these." Daniel 2:27-28   Remember today to thank God for the victories and blessings in your life, no matter how small and to give God the glory as the Apostle Paul did; "Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!" 2 Timothy 4:17-18  The key to victory in life, is to be sure to give God the glory for the victories in life. Second to always remember as Gideon did that it was the hand of God that gave Gideon victory and that gives us the victory each day !
